Abundance vs. Lack Mindset

Abundance vs. Lack Mindset

Is the picture above abundant in a harvest or is it lacking enough squash?

Your mindset is perspective and it’s your choice.

But our mindset is a conditioning and the only way to change it is with intention and awareness.

First, what is the difference between abundance and lack?

Abundance

  • Grateful

  • Appreciative of others

  • Wanting to give back

  • Generous

  • Knows there’s enough to go around

  • Celebrates others achievements

  • Trust-based thinking

  • Feels energetic

  • Open Minded

  • Flexible

Lack

  • Judgemental

  • Ungrateful

  • Feels like there isn’t enough

  • Experiences jealousy

  • Doesn’t notice what they have, only what they don’t

  • Fear-based thinking

  • Feels depleted in energy

  • Selfish focus (what’s in it for me)

  • Feels depleted in energy

Another way to notice if you’re in abundance or lack is by your posture.

An abundant mindset is someone who holds themselves high and open, ready to receive.

A lack mindset is someone who is more hunched over and closed off.

Are you functioning with a lack mindset?

It’s okay.

No one is perfect, this isn’t about being perfect. It’s about progress and awareness. One of my favorite things that Gabby Bernstein has shared in her book, Super Attractor, is the “choose again” method.

Did you catch yourself in jealousy? Choose again.

Did you catch yourself in fear? Choose again.

Did you skip finding gratitude? Choose again.

We always get to choose again.

Choosing again is how we get to rewire our condition. It’s not about choosing abundance in the way of, “I want to only have an abundant mindset,” and in that one statement being able to rid yourself of the lack-wiring that you have (which is not your fault, nor anyone’s fault). It’s a matter of saying, “I want to choose to have an abundant mindset,” and then you will. You’ll know you can choose again.

One of my favorite ways to rewire is to use my 6-minute journal to prompt an abundant mindset in the morning and the evening, including choosing affirmations and looking for my gratitudes. It’s one of my favorite parts of my morning and evening routines!

Go out there, and find your abundance! And then, watch all of the additional abundance that comes into your life. It’s so amazing! I’m cheering for you!
