Scheduling with Chakras
How the heck do you schedule with chakras?
First, know what chakras are. There are seven energy centers in your body from your tailbone up to the top of your head. It’s an idea that we hold energy in all of these seven areas, each of which pertain to a specific belief, feeling and context and these energy centers are constantly moving, changing and communicating.
In my Aligned Energetic Scheduling it’s crucial to really be able to use your body as a guide in keeping you aligned with the actions you’re taking in your life. After all, life is about being, not doing.
How can we use these centers to help guide us in our day to day schedule?
First…
Schedule for how you want to feel not what you need to do.
On Sundays, I write out my schedule for the week. I include my to dos and obligations, but before that I schedule ME. I schedule my self-care, my meals, my routines.
As I move through my week, I tune into my body and my energy. Your body will always be your guide.
As you move through your schedule, feel it in your body and adjust accordingly.
Here’s how.
Root Chakra
The root is near your tailbone. This is where our security, our home and our safety is. Feeling tingles, heaviness or discomfort? Adjust. Feeling secure and aligned? Keep going.
Sacral Chakra
The sacral is below your belly button. This is our creativity, our sensuality, our sexuality. Writer's block? Low libido? Not feeling sexy? Adjust. Feeling creative and in flow? Keep going.
Solar Plexus Chakra
The solar plexus is near your naval. This is your identity and your autonomy. It’s how you are showing up in the world. Getting not so good butterflies? Feel out of alignment with what you're doing? Lost in your purpose (in life or for the day). Feel a lack of fulfillment? Adjust. Feeling really aligned? Confident? On top of it? Keep going.
Heart Chakra
The heart is right in your chest. It’s where we hold our love and gratitude. Feeling disconnected? Like you're floating through the day alone? Feeling unlovable or lack of joy in what you're doing? Adjust. Feeling connected to your people and your work? Feeling grateful and giving? Keep going.
Throat Chakra
The throat is, well, in your throat. It’s how we speak, how we receive and deliver messages. Unsure of what to say? Indecisive? Feeling misunderstood? Adjust. Feeling understood, decisive, well spoken? Keep going.
Third Eye Chakra
The third eye is between your eyes. It’s where we hold our intuition, our dreams and aspirations. Overthinking, overanalyzing, headache, trouble concentrating? Adjust. Clarity, vision, direction, connected to intuition? Keep going.
Crown Chakra
The crown is just above your head. This is our connection to our higher power and our spirituality. Feeling a lack of spirituality and faith? Adjust. Feeling connected to your higher power and spirituality? Keep going.
How do you adjust??
Most simply put, don’t keep doing what you’re doing and expect a different result. Often this is going to require a little discomfort, like speaking your truth, quitting your job, asking for help, confronting your spiritual beliefs, or taking a nap when you think you “should” be hustling. Whatever the situation, ask yourself, “What am I doing in this situation and how can I approach it differently.”
