Positive Self-Talk & Why It's So Important
Positive Self-Talk and Why It’s So Important
Positive Self-Talk can change everything.
I used to think it was really cheesy. Corny, really. I would roll my eyes at the thought of affirmations.
But self-talk doesn't have to be cheesy affirmations. It can just be a moment of realizing you're saying something that isn't very kind to yourself. And these words will subconsciously affect your actions.
So, imagine if you choose positive thoughts. A cheerleader in your head. If someone's rooting for you, it pumps you up doesn't it? It's exactly what you need to hear when things feel hard. It helps you make better actions... ones that support you and help you strive to the best version of yourself.
And we can CHOOSE to do this for ourselves every single day. Every moment if we want.
And mind you, none of this is some blog post of me just talking about something I believe in. It's actual science. It's cognitive psychology. It's studied and a concept used to heal mental health. This WORKS.
You have nothing to lose. Not stop mean girl-ing yourself and mom yourself instead.
Let’s take a look at what this is.

And here is a great example of ways our thoughts can affect this triangle, courtesy of psychology tools.
We’re not going to get the through “right” every time. It takes practice, but this is where we can….
Choose again.
It takes time to rewire our thoughts if we’ve preconditioned ourselves to think a certain way for the past several decades. We’re not going to get it right in one shot.
If you want to FEEL good, THINK good.
If you want to FEEL abundant, THINK abundant.
If you want to FEEL enough, THINK enough.
Positive talk can feel silly, but it literally has the ability to rewire your brain and have you experience life in a completely different way. You can show up as a completely different person simply by choosing different thoughts.
It’s a matter of choice.
WHAT YOU SAY WILL BE.
I share a lot of this type of content and more on my podcast, Same Boat Huddle. Have you listened?
