Boundaries for Each Life Area

Boundaries for Each Life Area

Boundaries are incredibly important, and in this blog post, I share how to set them

But then, when it comes down to it, we can get really stuck on what that actually looks like. So, let’s break it down by area of life and keep this post simple.

Health & Body

Drinking enough water
Committing to daily movement
Limiting “bad” foods and beverages
Using clean and non-toxic products
Getting enough sleep
Meal planning

Home

Sharing chores and responsibilities
Intentional purchases so not to add to clutter
Designated spaces for specific activities
Non-toxic cleaning and air fresheners/candles
Saying no to visitors
Setting rules for visitors
Decluttering/organizing spaces
Keeping spaces for specific things and activities

Money

Budgeting
Weekly bookkeeping
Intentional spending
Savings accounts
Communication around spending
Creating goals
Healing money stories

Relationships

Scheduled date nights
Regular communication
Emotional support
Speaking love languages
Honesty
Trust
Allowing the other to own their own feelings

Family/Parenting

Teaching your kids to help themselves
Having a routine/schedule
Family chores
No device times
Time for everyone to speak their truth
Family dinners/Family nights, etc.
Co-parenting (communication!)

Work

Working hours
Specific time to check emails
A schedule that’s followed
Advocating for delegation with heavy workloads
Knowing your worth
Say no
Use your sick days

Mental/Emotional Health

Limiting negative media
Having a practice and routine for self-care
Taking accountability of your own feelings
Seeking therapy or mentorship

Social/Friends

Cancelling plans if you don’t want to go
Answering texts/calls when it feels good
Sharing your feelings when needed
Not gossiping
Setting time limits i.e. “I need to go in 10 minutes.”

When in doubt, remember these two things.

When we have a lack of boundaries, we will feel suffocated, chaotic, out of control, defeated, depleted, and exhausted.

When we have healthy boundaries, we feel in control, balanced, ease, flow, confidence, energy, decisiveness and alignment.

Take time to journal. What boundaries do you feel like you have in your life and which do you feel like you need?

Did you know this is a very specific exercise I do with my Layered Growth Academy students? And you can find more details and join the waitlist for the next enrollment.

The days are long, but the years are short. Make them count.
