Week 8 | This Week's Love Notes {366 Project}

Friends, I think it’s happening. Spring is on the horizon. The sun has been coming out more often and earlier in the morning, we are finding ourselves outside and I’m seeing less and less moody window light. We survived the first week of Mercury being retrograde, we’re getting stuff done but going with the flow.

48/366. A day off from school spent at Meme’s and I added in a quick photo shoot. It’s fun to see them create their little kid memories in their grandparents’ home. And yes they fell asleep on the way home.

49/366. He finally lost his first tooth. Thank goodness! Watching his big sister already loose 8 teeth, I think he may have wiggled this one out prematurely. Nothing like a little boy smile with a missing tooth and a chipped tooth!

50/366. Having a regular gratitude practice has completely rewired my brain to truly feel gratitude in the most unassuming moments. I not only recommend it but make it a huge part of my coaching. It’s the easiest way to completely change my life. The morning can be hectic no matter how even-keeled and prepared we are to leave the house. So, seeing this late winter, morning sun streaming into my room has been filling my soul with so much joy. I love stopping to see and feel these moments.

52/366. These kids. School pick up is one of the hardest parts of the day. All of the feelings they didn’t let out during the day come spilling out the second they get into the car. The fighting, whining and crying happens. Add in a little hanger and it’s the time of day I’m grateful to have had my meditation and self-care so that I can withstand the witching hour(s). And with this, the funny part is that this time has actually become one of my favorites. One I’ll always cherish. One of the many, many moments and stages with them that I’ll give anything to come back to. So instead of moving through it with no awareness, I’m taking it all in with a heart full of gratitude and love. Being their mama is my very favorite thing.

53/366. We never did stuff like this. I made very believable excuses but the real reason was my anxiety wouldn’t allow it. It would trigger so much, that it simply wasn’t worth it to push through. The work I do to manage my anxiety and overwhelm is …

53/366. We never did stuff like this. I made very believable excuses but the real reason was my anxiety wouldn’t allow it. It would trigger so much, that it simply wasn’t worth it to push through. The work I do to manage my anxiety and overwhelm is for them. It’s modeling a lifestyle that creates a strong foundation for healthy and wellness of your mind, body and soul. I can’t wait to see how they grow as adults with the self-care practices they are learning so effortlessly. But besides this, it’s for them in this moment. So that I can take them to the school movie night with ease. Do I love being there? No because I’d much rather be in a quiet house, but I love seeing THEM there. Making memories and connecting with their friends. My self-care is for them so much more than it’s for me.

Scooting around with all 3 of my biggest loves, throwing a football around and filling the quite streets with our laughter. Doing this will always be my priority. This is what life is about. Not work and to do lists. It’s stopping to play.
