Female Entrepreneurs and Our Cycles

Female Entrepreneurs and Our Cycles

Wait, what?

I know, I know. It might seem like an odd combo, kinda like oranges and red onions in a salad but somehow it makes sense.

As Entrepreneurs, we hustle. Let’s face it, it’s the only speed we know and it takes a superpower intention to be able to put the brakes on.

More work means more money. And more money means success. Right?

Mmmm… I honestly think that’s up for debate.

Anyway, I think what we really need to figure out is how to ebb and flow with our God given energy so we can avoid the burnout. Because burnout is inevitable and coincides with hustle no matter what.

How can we actually run our business better with our cycles? First, don’t over complicate it. Second, if you don’t have a regular cycle for any reason, follow the moon phases. Next, begin to feel into your energy in each phase and adjust what you’re doing in each phase to match the energy. Yes, this is going to be a HUGE shift because we are conditioned to feel like we need to do all of the things all of the time. But try this for a cycle and see how it feels. I double dog dare you. Here are some ideas for each phase to get you started.

Waxing Moon/Follicular Phase

  • Create Content

  • Batch Social Media

  • Offer webinars

  • Add in more coaching calls

  • Teach

  • Start new content

  • Begin building on that idea

Full Moon/Ovulatory Phase

  • Get your headshots and branding pictures done

  • Schedule podcast interviews

  • Webinars

  • Launches

  • Schedule important meetings

  • Pitch

  • Network

Waning Moon/Luteal Phase

  • Tie up loose ends.

  • Put hard conversations and confrontations on the back burner for several days

  • What projects did you start that you want to continue in the next cycle?

  • What projects did you start that you want to let go of?

  • Look at your systems. What’s working? What isn’t?

  • Get your current work and projects to a stopping point so you can take a few days rest.

  • Declutter your workspace

  • Reorganize your office closet

New Moon/Menstruation Phase

  • Review your budget

  • Do your bookkeeping

  • What’s working well, what isn’t?

  • Dream and visualize

  • Rest

  • Don’t focus on Doing. Take time to BE
